Paradise

I awaken to the sound of birds
Flying in a distance
To the warmth of my blanket
Which is somehow beneath me

Though awake,my eyes are still shut
And I stretch out my arms
Only to feel a million different pebbles
I now remember where I am

For the warmth of my blanket
Isn't my blanket at all
It's the sunburn on my back
From the ocean's bright sun

And the birds flying in a distance
Are the seagulls diving into the water
And the million pebbles are the sand

The ocean's calming waves
Had put me to sleep
And now I awaken
In a paradise.
