Paradise

An alcove of beauty
Hidden from seeking eyes
Though once found before
Now the curtains have closed

Though the journey is far
Past the sea and through the trees
When you arrive
Let it take your breath away
For it will slay the weariness in your eyes
The delightfully green tree curved like a swan's neck
A hammock meant for heaven
Not for you or me

The water below is a myriad of blues
Full of greens and turquoise hues
Fragile waves lapping on your toes
The beauty makes it seem like the world froze

The time tick-tocks away
While you're stuck in a spell
Under nature's play
This niche will do you well
