Partner in Crime

I sit and stare blankly as your face floats in my head
My heart begins to unravel like the spinning of a thread
Thinking of the times we shared always makes me smile
The crazy and riskiest was our favorite lifestyle
Late nights out full of laughs and even more of trouble
Sorting through the night before like forgotten piles of rubble
Your sparkling eyes of blue and piercing stare
Was a force so strong nothing could compare
We knew each other's faults and flaws which both of us embraced
Each and every moment in life that we have been forced to face
You knew my deepest secrets and I knew yours as well
Never would we speak of them or ever fail to tell
Some think that soulmates have to be romantic
But this just isn't true
For you my friend, were my soulmate through and through
You may be gone but that sacred bond remains
Like the tugging of a rope or pulling of the reins
I hope that you will visit someday in my dreams
And that I will see your face again to mend the tears that stream
You are on another journey now looking down on me
I know that you have no pain and the world has set you free
