Past, present, and future

Past, the darling of the dark
Faded now, she was a glory
Smiling, sweet, but just a lark
So fleeting, now she’s just a story

Present is the greying storm
She dances slow, a waltzing spin
She’s in a prison safe and warm-
Still prison, though, it’s always been.

Oh future, glowing dusted gold,
I lend to you my passion strong
Please give me peace and grace to hold
Bring me to you, before too long.

I need the future, for the past
Has tumbled far and fallen fast.
