Pastel Shades of Us

Admiring the sky as the sun set,
The clouds blushed,
Bashful of their beauty.
I turned to the vacant space beside me
In hopes to meet your gentle eyes,
Wishing you could appreciate
The aftermath of a day
Almost as radiant as your smile.

The sea breeze kisses my skin
But I wish it were your lips grazing mine
Instead of the air whispering into my ears.

An infinity of sand grains hug my feet,
But do not compare to the warmth
In my heart,
When your arms encompass me.

The sun edges the horizon,
Falling down falling down falling
And then all at once,
The same way I fell for you.
