Path of Darkness

The light is dim here,
I cannot see my own two feet,
But onward I must go,
For this is the path I have chosen,
One of darkness and of sadness,

I truly did not think it would turn out like this,
But here I am surrounded by my fears,
Afraid that my next step will be my last,
Or even worst, that it will not,
I no longer know what to do,

Should I- can I turn this around,
Is it possible for me to be saved,
Or am I damned for the rest of my days,
I wish to be rescued from this torment,
But who would save a monster,

Who would save a creature of darkness,
Who could save a monster from themselves?
