Pawns

I kneel before you,
Majesty on its throne of lies.
I drown in a sea of misery,
While you stare into my bloodshot eyes.
It feels like forever ago,
When you and I first met,
But popularity and power poison your mind.
You play around with me,
Toying with my feelings,
You don't know how fragile I truly am,
And I know realize I never really knew you.
A worthless pawn at the feet of perfection,
Your controlling ways are indestructible,
And society mocks me for being weak.
I stand powerless in front of a puppet master.
Now I have you to thank,
For making me a victim of fear.
