Paying to Dream

Yearning to see desires hatch
Pining for a slice of hope
They reach to scratch
They reach to shade
For the stasis of regularity they seek to elope

They pray once, they pray twice
They pray fervently for the price
And sleep after sleep
Indeed, the fantasy does swell
That well
Falls even more deep

With infrequent irregularity,
The myth does manifest
Tangible, visible, present
Yet with unattainable certitude
For everyone
But one

And the minaret calls once again.
