Pebbles

These are frigid remnants,
Of a hapless memory, lost.
Its abandoned existence lures
To throw dreams over again
Into mere allusions of glum.
They drown graciously, emotionless
Into abysmal depths of mind.
They get lost in desire
Leaving nothing but faint steps.
Why won't they cross over
And reach unfathomable places.
Mellifluous, yet strange.
Still they pursue me in vain
I keep in stagnant silence.
Swim these murky waters
And the dappled caress of them
Never stop dementing me.
Valour alarming in aspirations
With an arduous bond
Keeps me trying again yet.
When the waves die of thirst
I, a fool is shadowed all over
By shame and frustration
For my efforts leave me
Leaving nothing but pebbles
Beneath the dreamscape.
