Peculiar Woman

A new escapade can be horrifying
The overwhelming memories of the past
All that has disintegrated in task
Torn apart before final goodbyes
Certain things that once felt great
Ended before the expiration date

It is always a leap of faith
Seeking to find your soulmate
Maybe the reason is simple
Being able to encompass a soul
Always comes at a price in some form
If that soul is truly not yours
The fireworks tend not to light themselves
The butterflies eventually dissipate
Omit this toll
If you are to find your other half; epitome

In front of the most peculiar woman
Seemingly not the same as the others
The most precious laugh
Then followed by the most inviting smile
Eyes of Amber, Emerald, and Sapphire
Amidst the jewels, she was hiding
Only ever trying to escape these bindings
That have held her captive
Long before I came prying

There is a key in my possession
May I speak a confession
I have longed for this key to free
The soul meant for me
I think it just might be
This peculiar woman I see
