Perfect murder

Night breaking as I sit in the clearing
A dark shadow, soon nearing
Sitting in wait for its arrival
Long ago, once in denial
Gun in hand with determination
My shot heard, around the nation
The shadow arrives! With hope in its eyes
Little does it know; tonight it dies
We chat for hours, smiles bright
Little does it know, my gun hides in the night
Rage and fear it put in my brain
Tonight I will do the same
It’s back against a tree, eyes wide
Why I must look like a giant tide
I stand over looking into its eyes
