Perfume Scent

“Mother, you must never leave me,” I whisper
Trying to find that perfume scent again
Trying not to forget you, but you are slipping away

I don’t remember you now
Who am I?
My home gets flooded in sadness
I am alone
Not able to escape the shadows

But a voice says:
“Remember I will always be here,”
Those words repeat like a song in my ears
The flood subsides,
And the sun shines in
So I am joyful
