Personal Critique

Judge me judging you
How can we judge before knowing the truth
In a matter of seconds I am
Labelize
Criticize
Materialize
I am no longer a stranger or a human
I am a color
A race
A language
My personality is never taken into consideration
But my level of attractiveness
The design, coordination, designer label of my apparel
Is all that now matters to you

Judge me judging you
How can we judge before verbal communication
I am born with two strikes
Colored and a man
I carry the weight of my descendants
Every physical scar they had to endure
Is a mental scar I must endure
Seen as the ground of society in which you walk on
I am shattered
Happiness battered
Emotionally abused and scattered
Even from my own race, color, language
We kill each other
Steal from each other
Turn our backs on each other
Determine to not be united as we struggle to stand
And laugh when someone else fall

Judge me judging you
How can we judge before and after speaking the truth
