Perspective

Standing on the outside looking in on someone else's story
but they all pretend,
you hear the laughter and see the smiles,
it has you wishing that you were someone else

But the grass isn't always greener on the other side
all we can do is try to make the best out of what we have
you just have to take the good with the bad

The closer you get to that window, as you're looking in,
knicks and dents in the glass can't be hid
the reality will set in that nothing's perfect or what it seems,
but that is the hidden key to making the reflection
what you want your own life to be
don't make it out to be someone's fantasy

Because the grass isn't always greener on the other side,
all we can do is try to make the best out of what we have
you just have to take the good with the bad
