Petras Cave

Petra’s Cave

We all want the castle, but I crave the cave
Sitting in paradise looking for somewhere to drown
What makes poverty so appealing
When riches are all around.

Its like sabotage is the only answer
Drowning is the only air
I would indulge in all the wealth
If only I could care

We all want the prince, but I take the monster
Running from the carriage and seeking desperate shelter
Everyone looks up, but I go under
Even in sun I just want the thunder

As I watch all of you living in the now
Deep within my cage I scream, and I howl
Dreaming of a home that understands no need for light
A place I can be without an emotional fight

We all want the gold, but I want the ice
Something less valuable than will vanish from my sight
Unchained from materials and free in my plight
A gift that doesn’t have to feel right.
