Phoenix

No more sadness, no more tears;
All of those memories are no longer my fears.
Confined in my mind spent time thinking there,
I can see the light now and the truth is here.

I trust too quick, I'm hesitant to love,
I'm compassionate to others, yet can hold a grudge.
I'm down-to-earth and know I'm not perfect,
But my heart is so pure I know I am worth it.

It's time for a change and that change is now,
Not trusting too soon, no way and no how.
I'm keeping my guard up not chasing any men,
I'm now like a phoenix that's reborn again.
