Phoniex

Oh flightless Phoenix
Your flames used to burn so bright
From the darkest depths
You could bring so much light.
How your flame is stifled
your wings have no use
your presence is no longer delightful
you have become so obtuse.
you rise and rise and rise again
but what is a lion without the roar
I can no longer hear your octaves anymore
I'll tell you the same thing I did once before
SO listen carefully try not to ignore
you are a caged dying breed my friend
you can live ten million lives and it will all be the same
in the end
you are just the candle with a doused flame
a skeletal structure found, from which
greatness once came
because what is a bird that forgets he can fly
awaiting this same fate in the end you will always die.
