Physically Unfathomable

Razors and knives
Couldn't cut as deep as the words
That slipped off your tongue when you left
The depth of my wounds
Extend farther than any blade
Nothing seems to match the way I felt
When the words slit my soul
My body
When you're young your mother tells you
A wound can't be that bad if there's no blood
But let me tell you
I've shed fluid from my eyes but not my skin
And I've had cuts but not this deep
I've had scrapes but not this brutal
The way that pain is assessed can not be
captivated through first aid and bandages
My skin is clean
And my soul is demolished
