Picture Perfect Time
Riddled with age and torn at the sides
It was left folded away for time.
Devotion and love,
Sorrow and pain,
It held forth the memories that were
Forgotten with age.
When the tear drops stained and the pleas
Left unheard, it was crumbled and thrown
Back into the earth.
Days turned to weeks and weeks into years,
The memories once savored abandoned because of fear.
Fear that consumes and swallows our pride,
The picture of a perfect family no longer thrives.
Dirty and rotten nothing remains, the precious treasure
Was lost to the grave.
Nothing lasts and nothing lives forever,
Beyond the tombstones we only have each other
Treasure each moment and live like it's the last,
For when its done you'll wish you had your time back.
