Pigmentation

Pigmentation
Disappointment, disappointment,
my skin, dark as the shadows.
Disappointment, disappointment,
my skin, dark as the shadows.
My people get killed in the streets,
their skin, dark as the shadows.
If my skin was light like milk,
would I have the same worries?
My dreams being crushed.
My skin is dark like the shadows.
A color, a pigmentation,
the root of disappointment.

Disappointment, disappointment,
my skin, dark as the shadows.
If I weren’t a negro, would I have a better life?
Disappointment and rage I feel
due to pigmentation.
Disappointment. Disappointment.
