Poetic Disillusionment

hurt is never real
just the chemicals that you feel
cheap rhymes never spark a flame
how can you write a line about the sun
and make it seem so dull
how can you write about the rain and still your eyes are dry
the forest speaks with gentler music
a thing which had no ears
a boring trance my skull is due when such lyrics enter my head
lush greens are gray
sunsets turn black when a cliche is used again
we are doomed if we have run out of thought and must only recycle
you must be reminded that thought is free
and spans beyond what the eyes see
