The white fog lethargically kissed
the murky waters goodbye while
the black liquid air ran from red
embers that chased purity and
left nothing but ashes.
But I still missed you.

Liquid fire burned a scorching
trail, igniting letters that burst into
flames; chasing memories away
like demons while spirits floated- no,
sank my consciousness.
But I still missed you.

Sharpness gave way to dullness,
but bloodstream can only flow
so far; so long; so fast
before it comes to a halting end
a cliff- waterfall.
But I still missed you.

Cold pursued heat,
days blended together but time?
was at a standstill.
Why can't I-
why can't I just get over it?-
I still miss you.
