PRAISE A MEANINGLESS ORATION

PRAISE A MEANINGLESS ORATION
Let me not to the minds of pure patriots
Appear ungrateful. Praise is not pure praise
That values a hand less than an injured leg
O now my protesting pen begs to, please
Extol a girl who abandons her own pleasure
For dad’s, though his trophy is amputated legs
……………………………………………
Her tender chest carries bottle-like cucumbers
Instead of shining ribbons of war knights
Now quitting school wrecked a bright future
Making her sacrifice grimmer than I.E.D. fire
While peer rejection withered her soul brute
Dad’s tears amputated her kid nerves most
…………………………………………………
Then like a sick penguin, staring blindly ahead
Through a trophy of eyes seemingly dead
Like a corpse, she lacks a dad to give her picnic
When her peers are dancing lustily on carpets
Lacking support, she lost home in the barrack
Same day dad crushed in the Fallujah desert
…………………………………………………
But her plight news strutting thr’ mazes
Of praise, a dark secret thr’ mazes of scorn
If praise is a stamp of approval, for heroics
Then mine goes for this girl, a little heroine
If this be error and upon me proved
Then my lips will shun praise; a pointless oration
