Prayers for My Mamaw

You have always held a special place in my heart;
I always felt like nothing could keep us apart.
We've been buddies all my life.
I've loved the many times you have held me tight.
I had a feeling things were going to change,
But I never knew breast cancer was coming.
When Mommy told me the bad news,
I never felt so sad and scared before.
Watching as she goes through chemo-
Even though her hair is gone,
In my eyes she is more beautiful than ever.
Mamaw, when you need someone,
Take my hand,
And together we will fight through it.
We will take it step by step, day by day;
We will never give up.
Remember, we are always here for you;
And when you are a cancer survivor,
We will be here to celebrate with you.
Life is not a matter of counting the years,
It is a matter of making the years count.
