you see the moon as your best friend,
never to leave you like companions did,
and strickened by the floods of sorrow

carbon pressured heart opens like a seed
so much potential, so much life to bring.
but in the daylight, you're poisoned by it all

guided and divided by the swing of love
drift away from the person you've become
and all the lessons taught to you

and at the end of the day when ends meet
you call to the moon, your name to speak
and hope with a heavy heart again
