Pretty Blue Pedestals

There is a porcelain figurine
She stands sublime
She is a deep shade of blue
And she dances around a pedestal
Performing always
Stuck in one place
Listening to her song.
She knows it's hers
And she's played it well
All her life
They all love it
But lately she's been
Growing tired
Wearing thin
The same old song
Day out, day in
But there's a new song within her
She's tuned it how she likes
And it's every shade of green
But other have begun to hear it,
Feel it.
And she's not yet sure
How to feel about that.
And right now, she's floating,
Suspended in still air
Waiting to be wound
The other way.
