Protest

The palm of my hand holds all of my power
I am here to show that this time I will not cower
As I clench my fists tight I ignite a fire
I have come to fulfill my greatest desires
Those around me will try to certify their force
But I will speak volumes until my voice is hoarse

When I failed to speak
I was labeled as weak
But now as I let my words fall free
I question who’s here to stand up for me
Yet as I assume that no one heard my outcry
I hear a voice telling me to hold my head up high

For I am not the only one in this war
There are others who have also been ignored
As we join together as one
I realize that this battle is far from done
All that has been forced upon us, we will defy
As we slowly raise our fists up to the sky
