The stream of consciousness is intangible.
The fruits of the mind are incorporeal.
I am standing deep to my chin and I am thirsty.
I reach out for the stream and see it flash and flicker away.
How close they hang to my hand and I am hungry.
I reach out for the fruits and watch them tangle and turn away.
This is a cruel punishment.
