Purple Poetry

You wrote purple poetry on my neck without
having to move a single strand of my new
haircut that you finally fell in love with.
And your heart illuminates the sky more than
any of the constellations combined ever could.
And I went deep sea diving in your eyes today
and returned with all of the pearls that you've
been searching for beneath your ocean floor.

I traced the outline of the world on your
shoulders and it compliments your worn out
skin when my dark nails connect the dots
to the places I want to see with you.

You didn't question me when I stole a butterfly from the
restroom at the bar because it simply reminded me of
you and I put it on your windshield because you can see
black and it'll match the thoughts of me that will echo
off the blurred glass of your favorite place while I'm
gone. And this action speaks louder than any line of words
I could ever string together because I've never had a
favorite fairy tale until I tasted your lips because your
kiss sends me to heaven and I don't even believe in a God.
