I remember the day when you was a little boy.
You and your brother playing army men in the floor.
Your heart was so passionate as the years went by,
There was no changing of your mind.
Graduation day came and set your plans in motion.
I always knew your dreams.
I always knew your notions.
As I had to say goodbye I prayed over you from head to toe.
As you walked away it was hard to let you go.
Now you called and I hear the crackle in your voice,
I have to wonder if you made the right choice.
Boot camp takes a toll on any soul.
It breaks my heart my baby boy took on that roll.
As a mom we shed many years but know his future will be
Brighter through the years.
Thank you son for your duty and sacrifice.
Now I realize you was always right.
