Quarantine

By

Curses and blessings
Isolation, trepidation, and panic
Social distancing, sanitizing, and masks
Layoffs, shutdowns, with long unemployment lines
Depression, anxiety, and considerable deaths
Ambiguity in the White House
Tension among party lines.
Solidarity and division on the streets
Food boxes, bank bailouts, and stimulate package
While Black Lives Matters, rioting, and chaos
Vaccines, conspiracy theories, and global warming
The Coronavirus Pandemicinvoked worry and
fear in this great nation
But started a sympathetic movement with the
workers on the frontline
A Country brought to its knees
Yet, we the people, dare not fall
for we are unified when called
Resilient and courageous, COVID-19, we will rise
This quarantine forced us to close down churches
But provoked us to pray and reclaim our faith
To trust the only one who can save
God Almighty, Omnipotent, and Omniscient.
