The mandate is out
Everyone is shocked
We all shut our doors
Some even pout

We all laughed at other places
Not knowing what would happen to us
As soon as we knew
You should have seen our faces

Sitting alone in my room was never fun
I guess being an only child made it worse
By myself, no one to talk to
Couldn’t even think of a pun

Friends are out having the time of their lives
Risking their health
But they don’t care
All they ever do is strive

Again I sit in my room
Waiting to get out
The most impatient person in the world
Just stuck with a mop and a broom
