Raindrop

I want to be a raindrop
I want to fall from the sky
On to a world of umbrellas
Onto the people who
Left their umbrellas at home
Hoping to feel the rain
Leaving rivulettes
As I roll of skin
Dripping down to the ground
And into a puddle
For the children who
Beg to dance in the rain
So when they go outside
They may waltz
In the pools
That form around their feet
But most of all
When the sun comes out
I’d like to return to the sky

This Poems Story

I love the rain. Not only am I inspired by the rain itself but also by the metaphor it symbolizes for me. Even the smell of rain releases hormones that release stress.
