Rainfall

My heart is drowning in the rain
and every drop is a throb of pain.
Like tender fingers, they caress
my tears where sadness lingers.
With my eyes trapped in darkness,
the searching light of angels
from a mournful heaven has found
my screams and rescued them from
an abyss. From calming voices
in the sky, a song of faith is
singing, grief and tears say
goodbye. The world is closing
as I summon my strength to find
salvation. All my memories are
awakened and their lasting beauty
will be a consolation.
Rainfall, when it begins to fall
is like a stifling shroud. A
prayer for tomorrow will be
answered, bringing the sun that
swallows a cloud.
