Rally

Resplendent with remorse, our guilt begins its course,
Riding hueful horizontals with pension, and perforce.
A tapestry of debauchery held bannered in our wake,
Recollecting regretful pageantry, but forward, time opaque.

Echoes of empty apology crept tardily through the dirt,
Vibrating through the woeful winds, through lungs, and then invert.
Defecting derelict galloping of a heart's last beating life,
Unpaved roads and broken homes where blurred memories are rife.

Vibrant setting aspiration, behind our eye's path to cessation.
Blindly leading Bible studies to pitchforked illuminations.
Travel onward, outward, twisting ominous bottled cries,
Awaiting dark to overcome, where serenity, dormant lies.
