Rat race

Is this a desire to be one, living in a cage
In this lonely, dark, never ending rat race
Chapter one, first page
No living area so tiny a space
That one happy smile has turned upside down
A frown his face an unfamiliar clown
Going round and round lost at sea
Stuck in a shell the future bleak I see
The universe is just parallel
Coming up for air once or twice
Back in the cage unimportant mice
Coming up for air once now twice
Back in the cage small insignificant mice
Living just to suffice
Not to be sacrificed
Hats are going off and back on here
Changing all the time it could be so nice
Or could I t? Don’t fear
Let’s think twice
Chapter one second page
Small unimportant tiny mice
Again the upside down frown
Parallel to the universe
The disturbed strange face of a clown
The cage, the sea immerse.
