Raven

My heart is black
Like a cabins smokestack.
My mind is made up
I'm completely corrupt.
My hands throw seeds
That only grow weeds.
My feet tread
Over the dead.

I'm a treacherous Raven
I devour the weak.
I examine the carcass
with my razor sharp beak,
But something has changed
Which I just can't explain.
I look down and see
hands embracing me.
He stretches my wing
Then hands me a sling.
I guess I was broken
No, I'm not joking.
Those hands made me fly
Without them I'd die.

Now I look with pride
At my wings so wide.
I was a hated pest
Without a warm nest.
But the body I was a slave in
Is now a saved Raven.
