Raw

Things haven't been
Moving much lately?
Are you feeling?
better?
Bitter.
Salted, dry roasted
spiced and sauteed
"Pour a little vinegar on it, love"
Sizzle, sprat, POP
the wounds fry, bubble
Licking the sores just for the taste
"Just right"

A bit raw.

This Poems Story

My name is Ryen and most people say I am too young to write a poem about heartache. I've dyed my hair and painted my face since I was twelve because I never liked who I was, but through writing I have found solace in myself. My family and I are from Michigan and in my free time I enjoy painting, riding horses, reading and watching Netflix. Some things that have inspired my writing are the people that I've come across, the people who have left, the people I've left, and the ones with the courage to stay. Most of my poems are about one particular person that, if nothing else, has inspired me beyond belief. "Raw" was inspired by me. It kind of has a split personality feel to it. Like most of my writing, this piece really helped me release a lot of tension I had with myself. Thank you for reading.
