Reading Charles Dickens

I think you are
alive somewhere
eating soft pieces of buttered toast
floating in a bowl of milk.
I think you are tending to the garden
or reading Charles Dickens
and telling your stories
over scones and tea.
But, sometimes,
I think you are just sailing thru,
leaving your breath on my skin.
