Ready to Believe
At first she was lonely, afraid to believe.
Then she was indisposed and couldn't achieve.
Next she was drained of all her optimism.
Isolated in her own painful prison.
Tears ran down her face when no one was around.
Shame and despondency were shown in her frown.
Though she still could not give up, for it wasn't time,
To know they all won and to let them all shine.
Deep in her heart, hope would forever prevail.
She'd block out the hurt so no one could assail.
At the end of the tunnel there is a light.
One step at a time, she'll be ready to fight.
Once there was a girl who was ready to leave.
But, now she's a woman prepared to believe.
