Reality of Life

As night falls people begin to sleep,
peacefully they rest their heads and close their eyes.
I walk around watching them. They look so peaceful.
I'd do anything to be like them.
I open the window and gaze up at the starry sky.
The wind softly blows against my cheeks.
For a minute it all stops.
No memories of the past, no pain, no heartache.
I watch as dark turns to dawn.
The first ray of sunlight hits my face as reality strikes me.
It's just another day in limbo.
Another day stuck in hell.
