She stands on the shore
the rain has ceased at last
the misty fog in the bay of her mind has drifted away
the remnants of her past
each as insignificant as a grain of sand

The crashing swells subside
the gentle gray melts into a midnight blue
the frigid salt air warms in the rising sunlight

She turns
her tears subside
the last drop swirling away, becoming the ocean itself

The indigo sky fades to dawn
The seagull cries its triumphant call

And she is new
