Red Apple

With a gentle wind blowing through my leaves,
I gaze upon your beauty as you cling to me,
Tightly, as if I were all you need.
In kind I feel the same for thee.
So my branch re-strengthens its mighty grasp,
Holds on to what I hope will last.
Rather see time, us wither, you and I together,
Never to see a day we separate,
Or fall away to any dreadful fate.
Lifting high, you above this Earth, do I,
For all this world to see, that you're my most perfect part indeed.
My red apple, you're the sweetest thing to me.
Without you I would just be another tree!

This Poems Story

My wife loves Red Delicious apples and she asked me to write a love poem for her. I've been writing poetry since about 2010. Friends and family have enjoyed and continue to enjoy what I pen. I have approximately three dozen plus. My wife loved her poem. So did family and friends. I love her and them. So I continue to write.
