I remember you,
I remember you when my brother passed,
I remember a time when I could barely keep a cohesive thought.
And amidst a sea of phone calls and sympathies, I remember yours.
I remember the time, the date, where I was.
I remember not wanting to laugh or smile, or be happy.
And in a sea of utter darkness, you showed me your light.
I am drawn to it. It is undeniable. It is tangible.
Like fresh fallen rain on your skin,
Or a swift moving breeze before a storm.
I remember feeling special when you called.
For that is what you gave to me,
That I what you gave to all of us.
