Her eyes used to shine so bright
Kisses on the cheek, the way she'd hug me
Now I see no recognition or light
Just a sad smile asking, who is she?
Memories that use to be so strong
My high school graduation, my wedding
Her laugh, the clarity, now gone
This can't be my real life setting
But it is, she's a shell of what once was
I try my best to push through her haze
Is this what this illness does?
Strip all life, leave just a vacant gaze?
May my love be strong, to make her see
Come back Mom, please remember me!
