Remember When

The tooth fairy left you a dollar
The anticipation the night before
Of morning excitement you’d holler
Remember when
Watching cartoons on TV
How grand life was then
And still so much more to see
Remember when
You discovered music in your ears
You’re tapping fingers and toes
To the rhythmic beat you hear
Remember when
Suddenly, no interest in your toys
Instead a strange attraction
Between girls and boys
Remember when
You felt that first pull of love
That face always on your mind
And wishing on stars above
Remember when
It didn’t matter which way you turned
That internal flame of love
Like an endless fire it burns
