remembering high school

Grass. Scratchy, cool. Dirty. Nose-crinkling secrets.
Cringe at the thought.
Shame isn't remedied by forgiveness.
In the grass --
Things not easily forgotten, not fondly remembered.
Forced. Uncomfortable.
Silver cars in a parking lot I didn't care about.
In a parking lot so ---- uncomfortable now.
Chocolate --- gross. Chocolate, the roots of the of
the grass. Secret Keeper.
Touch. Unwanted, gentle, flinching, needed, desired by
someone else.
Joy. Innocence. That was before. Not knowing was good.
A garden. No. The garden. More secrets in this grass.
Max, her dog. Chocolate is fatal.
A burial.
Fear, more fears,
Whose burial? Not Max.
even more fears, maybe the most fear ever. Even now.
Chocolate remember? No lunch. No food. Hunger for more.
Tasting nothing.
Shame. Fear. Anger. Nothing.
Lonely. Crying. Nothing. Questions. Nothing. Answers.
Nothing. No change. No relief.
Nothing ending with nothing.
