Reminiscing

It's been a long day without you, my friend
With no clue how I am ever going to mend.
I miss you immensely, and think about you every time
I take the long road, and remember every climb.

You left so soon, so much held back
That my vision is gone, my memories black.
The love for you was always so strong
I pray everyday that you aren't really gone.

I dream of us having lots of fun
and I see your smile, your face in your son.
He'll grow up and follow the path you've led
Maybe even with a few tears shed.

I'll make sure they are taken care of
And always remind them of your love.
I see things that remind me of you now and then
And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again.
