Reminiscing Leaves Me Ruined

We can get through this,
but there must be limitations.
My mind is in a very dark place.
I do not wish to erase you,
it's just the future I cannot face.
I cannot doubt my feelings,
but my thoughts are in a flickering reeling.
I just want to embrace you,
but my guts are in twisted roots.
I can block out my photographs,
in effort to delete myself from your mind;
but the song of your voice lives in my brain,
and I can still taste our evening dining wine.
