Revolutionary

I am a lone soldier
A criminal in my home
Now a foreign world

A single voice in the madness
Screaming to be heard
It falls on deaf ears
Connected to mouths that assert equality
Condemning me in the same breath

The prejudiced calls the bigot
This is our reality

Innocent blood stains the crimson years
Unacknowledged, unknown
Even my allies yield
Hiding behind masks of silence, submission, and shame

I am a revolutionary
Fighting to save my enemy
Redeemed at the hand of my sword

A second chance in my outstretched palm
And the promise of a resurrection
